Post-Race Wrap Up

Talledega is a track of firsts, bringing Jimmy Parker his first win of the season.  What a roller coaster ride.  Every driver lead a lap in this race.  There were 3 green/white checkered restarts.  On the last lap, Kevin attempted to block a charging Brian and ultimately cost him the race with a big spin on the backstretch.  Jimmy was in second and made a front stretch run to squeeze by for the lead and victory.

Next Race Coming Up

The hardest track to pass on is next at Darlington.  Darlington will also see the addition of a new driver, Kris Bryant.  Get your practice in now.  Schedule to be determined.

Point System

Points will be calculated in increments of 2.  If the race contains 5 players, then first place gets 9 points, second gets 7 points, and so forth.  If you lead a lap you get 1 extra point.  If you lead the most laps you get another 1 point.

If you win the pole, but fail to lead the first lap (bad start), you will still be awarded with 1 extra point.  If you win the pole and lead the first lap, you are still only awarded with 1 point (1 point for leading lap).

Winner of Charlotte All-Star heat race #1 will be awarded 3 points.  The second race, the actual All-Star race, will award the winner with 5 points.  (No other points will be given to any other position).

Rules

  • If you intentionally wreck one another you will be docked points.  (To be evaluated in replay).  Occurrences will start over each season.
    • First occurrence cost 3 points.
    • Second occurrence cost 3 points and you have to start at the end of the field at the next race.
    • Third occurrence docks you 10 points.
    • Fourth occurrence you are suspended a race and docked 10 points.
    • More than four and I really will have to evaluate why you are in the league.
  • If you wreck in qualifying (cannot complete) then you must start at rear of field regardless of time of lap completed.
  • The race will only be restarted upon agreement of all other players (lag or connectivity issues being more obvious reason).
  • Failure to compete in raceday will resort in 0 points for that race.  If raceday needs to be changed, must be approved by all racers.
  • Races will be 20% of the actual race length with 2/3 pit stops intended.
  • All Star heat race will be a 10% race.  The second race will be a 5% shootout with an inverted starting lineup.
  • Default setups at all tracks to start, then you can adjust as the race progresses (pits).

The Chase

The Chase will consist of the last 10 races of the season.  All of the drivers will enter the Chase.  Depending on their current point position, the racers will be separated by 2 points per position with 1 bonus point per race win they claimed during the regular season.  So first place with 7 wins would have a point total of (based on 5 people) 10 + 7=17 points to start the Chase.  If second place had 4 wins, then they would get 8 + 4=12 points.
